TEISE ANGLERS & CONSERVATION SOCIETY

The Society

The Teise Anglers and Conservation Society is a non-profit making fly fishing club founded just after the end of the Second World War. The Society controls more than seven miles of the River Teise, in the beautiful Kent Weald countryside, between Goudhurst , Marden and Collier Street.

The Society also maintains a well stocked reservoir at Marden Beech.

Our trout fishing season is from 3rd April to 31st October inclusive, which allows members to fish for 211 days. Membership is controlled to ensure that there is no overcrowding and quite often members find they have the whole river to themselves.

The Society has a team of bailiffs who patrol the river daily. There is a members guest permit facility valid for both the river and the reservoir. Guest Tickets are £20

Constant improvements are being made to the fishery and members are encouraged to help with stocking, bank clearing and the opening up of new fishing access points. There are a series of padlocked gates in the boundary fences along the river and each year members are provided with that seasons combination code in order to gain access to the fishery.

The Society liaises with various mutually compatible bodies such as the Salmon and Trout Conservation Society, the Environment Agency, the South East Rivers Trust, the Kent High Weald Partnership and other entities regarding improvements to the river, the fishery and water quality. It has also developed good working relationships with The Angling Trust and the Kent Police Wildlife Section.
