Next steps: Can you help?

As you make your final checks of your equipment and tackle for the new season tomorrow, you'll be pleased to know that a micro-workparty (Nigel and myself) have just installed yet another set of steps down to the river. This is on Beat 3c just above the Tractor Bridge. We had installed an access point there a few years ago, but strangely very few people used it. To be fair, it did require abseiling or sliding down a steep bank on a chain, but it was quite a nice spot. Now, as you can see, we've made it a bit easier.

We also improved some of the steps and access points on Beats 4,and 3a, so it was a busy morning. We've now installed four full-length ladders in the last few weeks, and there are still a few places where we could usefully put in a few more. To that end, if anyone has an old ladder lying around that you don't need any more, it would be great if you could donate it to the club.

It would need to be aluminium (not wood) of course, but even short ladders (about 5ft or more) would be very useful, or even a set of aluminium steps, as we sometimes have to cut down ladders for certain spots. Any thing like this can save the club money, and this help to keep down the fees in the long term, so please contact Nigel if you think you can help.

Thanks, and Tight Lines
