The Brook Lamprey is a very ancient species and we are lucky to have them in the Teise. Look for their Redds about now - a cleared patch of stones amongst the algae-covered gravel. This was spotted by Nigel on Beat 3C on Saturday and shows some Brook Lamprey spawning. I hope they enjoyed it, as they are destined to die a few weeks after spawning. Who'd be a Brook Lamprey?
