Watching the River Flow

If you're getting frustrated waiting for the river level to get back to normal after the floods, not to mention hoping for clear water, don't forget the reservoir!

It was pretty badly choked with weed during the summer, but I have it on good authority that it is again fishable, in fact I know of at least two people who have recently caught Rainbows there, and even Browns. There is plenty of space for 4 members to fish at a time, and please do fill in a Catch Return, even if you're unlucky, as it is very important for the club to know how many people are using the Reservoir. You never know, if we don't use it, we might lose it, including all the trout that have been stocked for this Winter. It'll be really helpful to know what flies are successful there too.

If you do visit the river, and find it too high or too cloudy, don't waste your journey, try the reservoir. The location is on your joining instructions map, and remember to park near the farm buildings rather than right next to the reservoir, as it will be too muddy there for a while yet. If you're unsure about how to get there, do contact the committee as we're always happy to give advice, and we want to make sure you're getting as much out of your membership as possible.

Talking of which, the AGM will be on 1st December at the same pub as last year, in Lamberhurst. Details will be issued soon.

One of the highlights will be a draw for a £50 voucher for some lucky member who has submitted a catch return. Believe it or not, some people don't, and we're all the poorer for that, so this might just spur a few more people to do so (and it is a requirement of the club rules incidentally). Please bring your views, suggestions and opinions to the AGM, and help steer the committee in the right direction.

Cheers

PeterB
